Year of St. Joseph

On December 8, 1870, The Sacred Congregation of Rites promulgated the following decree, which communicated the decision of Pope Pius IX to declare St. Joseph Patron of the Universal Church, and which also raised St. Joseph's feast of March 19 to the rank of double of the first class. In light of the 150th anniversary, Bishop Deshotel has established the Year of St. Joseph beginning August 16, 2020 and ending May 1, 2020. During this year, we as a diocese will meditate on St. Joseph’s life, befriend him in prayer, and seek his protection. Click on the links below to learn more.
