Bereavement
The goal of the bereavement ministry is to reach out to those who are grieving the loss of a loved one. The pain of losing a spouse, mother, father, brother, sister, or child is too great to carry alone.
Grieving is unique to each individual and should be treated with gentleness and understanding. A card can be sent expressing compassion and prayer during the initial pain of loss. Some may need a phone call, after a week or two, to have that opportunity to speak with someone who cares. If they would like to talk to someone, we can set up a time to visit. So often, they are in need of that shoulder, an ear to listen, and a heart just to love them when they are in the depth of their sorrow.
Your sorrow is our sorrow. As a community at St. Michael the Archangel, we want to reach out and be with our parish members.
If you have a family member or a friend who would like for us to visit or if you feel led to this ministry, contact Allyson Gary.
