Altar Servers

To serve at the altar of God is a sacred duty and privilege. Being an Altar Server is being an instrument of Sacrifice of Holy Eucharist. The source and summit of our Catholic Faith is the Holy Communion. It is being a part of the miracle of the Body and Blood of Christ in this unique way is truly opening one's self to the grace of God.

Young men and women can begin serving after they have received their First Holy Communion and should be in the fourth grade (unless they have an older sibling who is serving, then they may begin in the third grade and serve with their sibling). Altar Servers should be able to receive Holy Communion every time they serve in the sanctuary and are asked to show up for Mass at least 15 minutes before Mass begins.
