The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults is a relatively new concept in the history of our Catholic Faith. These programs, each tailor-made from church parish to church parish, are designed to uniquely journey with adults who have a desire to convert to our Catholic Faith from another religion, those who were never baptized, those who wish to make a profession of faith and share in Holy Communion, and those who did not receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Those who would be a part of the RCIA process are: A person who:
has never been baptized and has a desire to receive baptism as an adult. This person would make a profession of faith and receive the Sacrament of Confirmation at the Easter Vigil.
was baptized and/or raised in another Christian faith and is interested in converting to the Catholic Faith.
was baptized in the Catholic faith but has not received any other Sacraments (i.e. First Communion, Confirmation).
was baptized in the Catholic faith, received Holy Communion, but received no instruction after that and was not Confirmed.
was baptized in the Catholic faith received Holy Communion, received instruction, but was not Confirmed.
has a desire to learn more about our Catholic faith.
**The Catholic Church recognizes the validity of baptisms of other Christian denominations provided the Sacrament was celebrated validly and the formula, "In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" was used.
Below is the form RCIA candidates need to complete. Thank you!
